VARIETY: Vermentino, a variety that probably originated in Spain, has adapted well to the soils and climate conditions of the western Mediterranean.
PRODUCTION AREA: The variety’s natural habitat is in northern Sardinia, where it is grown on the coast and on the gentle hillslopes inland. HARVEST PERIOD: 2nd week of September.
WINEMAKING: Soft-crushing of the grapes, gentle cleaning of the free-run juice and controlled-temperature fermentation make this a light, fresh-tasting, subtly appealing and irresistibly easy-drinking wine.
APPEARANCE: Straw yellow with greenish highlights. NOSE: Temptingly aromatic varietal notes of spring flowers and tropical fruits.
PALATE: Dry, fresh, bright and fruit-forward. The fruitiness of the palate is underlined by Vermentino’s varietal aromatics.
ALCOHOL CONTENT: 12% vol.
FOOD MATCHINGS: As an aperitif, with starters, fish or white meats.
